Criminal Justice Research TopicsCriminal Justice is a system that different governments have put in place with an aim to maintain social control over citizens and stop different kinds of crimes by the governed citizens or punishing and rehabilitating those who break the laws put in place. There are a number of Criminal Justice Topics, they include:-

1. The DNA Evidence.
Forensic science shows that DNA has become a valuable source of evidence in lots of criminal cases in the world. For example, DNA fingerprint can be used to identify a crime suspect, This is simply because DNA fingerprint is analogous. This test involves getting DNA containing cells from a sample of evidence then replicating it through a process of cooling and heating and adding a catalyst and enzymes.

2. Capital Punishment.
This is a Criminal Justice Topic which deals with execution of a death punishment upon a criminal once proven guilty of capital offences like murder and drug trafficking depending on the country handling the case. There are several ways of executing capital punishment, for example, hanging, beheading, gas chamber, shooting, lethal injection, electric chair and many more.

3. Identity Thief.
This is a form of crime that one pretends to be someone else by using the other person’s identification details in order to obtain benefits such as; credit and resources. In short, it’s a form of fraud.

4. Mandatory Minimum Sentence.
It is a setting where judicial discretion is limited by law. It is different in different countries, for example; capital offences vary from country to country.

Criminal justice research topics mostly deal with the rights of suspects of crimes. One of these topics is Police Brutality. When arresting suspects, how do the police entrusted with this duty handle the suspects? Do they assault them? Do they handle them with care considering their human rights?
Duress can also be a topic on Criminal Justice Research as it is important for the court to know under what conditions the crime committed by the defendant. Duress is when a person is forced to commit a crime due to illegal pressure like threat on one’s life.

Criminal justice research paper topics are papers done mostly by students to give their opinion on different issues that differ as far as criminal justice is involved. Most of these students are those looking forward to join law school. These papers are likely to test their opinion on death penalty which is a very controversial part of criminal justice and other controversial topics. The students’ context must therefore be persuasive as per their stands in the matter being talked about.

The common matter of those accused of crimes being subsequently found innocent is also a controversial topic found in the criminal justice research paper. Students are allowed to give their opinion on whether the plaintiffs who do not get the intended justice are to be compensated or not. The topics are all debatable and are about what the students think and not what the law states. These papers require that the student ought to have understood well issues on crime and criminal justice.
